​Joe serves as Worship and Youth pastor at Urban Light.  Joe is married to Emilie Carpenter and has four children, Josephina, Julian, Frederik and Solomon.  He oversees the Sunday worship service and is passionate about creating a multisensory worship experience for the body of Christ with different styles of music, spoken word, congregational reading, and dance.   Joe also pastors Urban Light's youth.  He is passionate in forming a community with the youth in inner-city Muncie with the desire that young persons will see themselves the way that Jesus sees them.  Joe spent 10 years working with "at risk" youth at a local facility in Muncie.  He has an associates degree in Human Services and is attending Winebrenner Theological Seminary, for his masters in Practical Theology.
